Hunter Education Courses
Education is key to success and safety in the field and we are pleased to provide both the NYS Hunter & Bowhunter Education Courses and the NRA Pistol Permit Course.
NYS Hunter Education Courses are offered for both Archery & Gun.
We hold one Gun Hunter Course in April, and several of both the Gun and Bow courses in the fall.
Dates for the spring course will be posted when it gets scheduled.
All our Gun Hunter Safety Courses are held on a Friday from 6-9pm, and the same Saturday from 8am-3pm.
Bow Courses are held on a Friday from 6-9pm, and the same Saturday from 8am-1pm.
YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS!
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and you must stop in to sign up-- NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
ALL HUNTER EDUCATION COURSES ARE FREE!

NRA Basic Pistol Courses
OUR NEXT HANDGUN SAFETY COURSE WILL BE HELD IN THE SPRING. HOURS ARE 6-9PM ON FRIDAY, 8AM-3PM ON SATURDAY.
COST IS $70 PER PERSON. THIS INCLUDES ALL COURSE MATERIALS, AMMUNITION AND THE USE OF OUR HANDGUNS.

NRA Pistol Courses are offered throughout the year. This is the course that is required by Cortland County (and numerous other counties) for a pistol permit. If you need to have your course before we offer it, contact your county. You can generally get an extension if you are signed up for a course, even if it's after the date you need it by. Just be sure to get the time extension. Persons who have not yet applied for a pistol permit because they are not yet old enough, and are between 18 and 21 years old, can take this course. Courses are generally given on Fridays and Saturdays. Occasionally on Fridays and Sundays. Times are always from 6-9 PM on Friday, and 8AM til 3PM on Saturday/Sunday.
