Hunter Education Courses

Education is key to success and safety in the field and we are pleased to provide both the NYS Hunter & Bowhunter Education Courses and the NRA Pistol Permit Course.

NYS Hunter Education Courses are offered for both Archery & Gun. Please call for current course schedule, or check the NYS hunter education web page, http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9191.html. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED--ALL HUNTER EDUCATION COURSES ARE FREE!

NRA Pistol Permit Courses

WE HAVE A PISTOL PERMIT CLASS SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 10 AND 11, 2010      FRI. 6-9PM AND SAT. 8-3.  MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS.  PLEASE CALL TO REGISTER.  COST IS $65.00- INCLUDES ALL REQUIRED BOOKS, USE OF FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION.  DISCOUNT FOR COUPLES SHARING MATERIALS.

NRA Pistol Permit Courses are offered throughout the year.  This course is required by Cortland County (and numerous other counties) for a pistol permit. If you need to have your course before we offer it, contact your county.  You can generally get an extension if you are signed up for a course, even if it's after the date you need it by.  Just be sure to get the time extension.  Anyone can take this course as long as they're at least 18 years old.  You don't have to take it for the permit.  Many people have taken it that don't have a pistol permit.  You can take it before you get, or even apply for a pistol permit.  Courses are generally given on Fridays and Saturdays. Occasionally on Fridays and Sundays. Times are always from 6-9 PM on Friday, and 8AM til 3PM on Saturday/Sunday. Attendance on both days is required.  If you would like to be called when we get the next dates set, just call or email us your name and phone number.  PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  (607) 749-5714; davearcheryandspors@yahoo.com.
